DC Block-Party: Showcasing Local Art, Music, Diversity & Service

Last Date:

Location:
TBD
Details:
Beats, Rhymes & Relief, a newly formed NGO with a mission of using music and the arts to spread awareness and raise support for humanitarian causes globally. As part of a greater effort to utilize the arts to inspire commonality, provoke thought, educate and bridge communities, cultures, and nations we are currently launching block-party style events in key cities across the United States to raise awareness about our work and spread our vision of music as a powerful tool to unite and serve those in need. We have already hosted successful events in Chicago, IL & Dallas, TX and will be hosting events in Los Angeles, CA, New York City, NY, and Atlanta, GA.

It gives us great pleasure to announce that the next stop on our map is Washington, DC on September 28, 2013! The DC event International Children’s Celebration: Showcasing Local Art, Music, Diversity & Service, promises to be fun, engaging and dynamic!

The DC event will feature an NGO fair and community block party in the form of a family fair and a Musical Instrument Petting Zoo. Throughout the day, we will be filming local artists commissioned to produce a collaborative hip-hop music video and mural painting tied into themes of service, international cooperation, justice and music as a tool for education. All content of or work is family friendly and conveys positive and impactful messages. The music video will become the third entry in our “Calling on Your City” contest, where our fans will vote on the best video and music between all the cities that we are hosting events in. The winning team will be invited to DC for our inaugural celebrity benefit music concert to take place in the winter of 2013 in Constitution Hall.
