Please join DC’s Jackson Art Center for its Spring Open Studios on Sunday, May 17, 2015, from 12 pm to 5 pm!
The artists of the Jackson Art Center will host their semi-annual Open Studios on Sunday, May 17, 2015 from noon to 5 pm. The twice-a-year event is an invitation to the community to visit the studios of more than 40 local artists displaying works on paper, canvas and fabric, in oil, acrylic, pencil, and pastel, as well as photography, sculpture, and ceramics, while enjoying complimentary refreshments and live music. The event is free and open to the public.
This spring, our Open Studios will also include a free children’s workshop
-- “Marvelous Murals” -- from 3 pm to 4 pm that same afternoon, no registration required! Come celebrate the arrival of spring and say goodbye to winter! Children will create spring murals outside in our side courtyard.
All painting supplies will be supplied. Children of all ages are invited.
Jackson artists will be on hand to offer instruction. In the event of bad weather, we will postpone the children’s event until the following Sunday, May 24 from 3 pm -4 pm.
The Jackson Art Center is located at 3050 R Street, NW, in a former DC public school building directly across from Montrose Park in Georgetown, Washington, DC.
