Operation Military Kids(OMK) is a nationwide initiative designed to support young people impacted by deployment and resilience. As a part of the Center for 4-H/Youth Development the District of Columbia’s OMK State Team is proud to host this exciting training session.
The event will provide insight on the facts and challenges of military life for families and especially youth after a parent is deployed. Participants will learn how to recognize and assist local military youth, particularly those whose parents have been deployed.
All District residents with a passion for developing young people are encouraged to participate—including but not limited to teachers, counselors, parents, police officiers, court staff, retired military, youth serving organizations etc.
