Advisory Neighborhood Commission 3E represents Tenleytown/American University/Friendship Heights. ANC-3E is one of 37 ANCs in Washington. There are five Single Member Districts (SMD) for the AU Park/Friendship Heights ANC. Each SMD has approximately 2,000 residents and is represented by a Commissioner who is elected for a two year term. The ANCs are the body of government with the closest official ties to the people in neighborhood agencies.
