Last Date:

Location:
American University, 4400 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20016
Building:
Katzen Arts Center
Details:

Sponsored by AOL and American University's School of Public Affairs, The SPA Policy Forum brings together businesses, public agencies and non-governmental organizations who are committed to bringing about social change through strategic collaboration and cross-sector partnerships.

Through a series of panel discussions, this one-of-a-kind event will highlight new and innovative solutions to today's public policy problems. Hear from the leaders of some of America's biggest companies, and learn about the impactful work currently being done in the private sector through shared value initiatives in policy areas such as STEM education, access to healthcare, nutrition and women in technology. What is shared value? When companies recognize that there are tremendous economic opportunities for innovation and growth in treating social problems as business objectives. Our panel discussion features the extraordinary men and women who are transforming business, government, philanthropy and more.

From 6 to 7pm, there will be a pre-event networking reception where hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be provided as well. The main event will take place from 7 to 8:30 pm, and our distinguished panelists will include:

  • AOL Inc., Sara Link - President of the AOL Charitable Foundation
  • IBM, Stan Litow - Vice President of Corporate Citizenship & Corporate Affairs and President of IBM's Foundation
  • Nestle, Paul Bakus - President of Corporate Affairs
  • Novartis International AG, Charlie Hough - Vice President and Global Head of Strategy, Corporate Responsibility
  • ExxonMobil Corp., Neil Goins - Vice President of International Government Relations
  • American University, Andrew Kline - Executive-in-Residence, Department of Public Administration and Policy
