Washington, D.C. – The Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs’ (DCRA) Small Business Resource Center (SBRC) will host Build It In DC on Monday, March 23, 2015 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Build It In DC is a free event offered to current and aspiring general and home improvement contractors interested in starting or growing a business in the District of Columbia.
The inaugural event will feature Buwa Binitie, Managing Principal at Dantes Partners, as the keynote speaker. Additional professionals from the development and construction industries, along with District government agency staff, will also host breakout sessions and panels covering a myriad of topics. The topics include: the District’s regulatory process, green building, financing, and lessons learned.
“I’m very pleased that the Small Business Resource Center has expanded its reach to include general and home improvement contractors,” said DCRA Interim Director Melinda Bolling. “Contractors are a big part of our business community and deserve our support.”
In addition to attending informational sessions and panels, attendees will have the opportunity to network with industry professionals and District agency staff.
