An interactive experience of a Civil War camp with a tour of the grounds of Tudor Place that includes costumed interpreters, expert historians and authors. Mingle, observe, and take in life as it was lived by soldiers, enslaved workers and women on the home front. Participants can observe and talk with Union and Confederate soldiers and enslaved workers, visit a Union artillery unit, and attend the School of the Soldier where children can learn the manual of arms, practice military drills, try period clothing, and learn historic games. Additional scheduled sessions include talks on Victorian women's dress and the role of African American women during the war, as well as presentations by noted authors.
