Join the DC Historic Preservation Office for the 6th annual Day of Archaeology Festival, hosted by Archaeology in the Community, a District-based nonprofit education organization. Meet local archaeologists in person and learn about the science and art of doing archaeology, volunteer opportunities and local history. There will be activities for all ages: mock excavation, hands-on artifact displays, crafts and lectures. Visitors will have an opportunity to enjoy the Dumbarton House Museum, music, and face painting. DC's food trucks will be on site as well.
